A CHL.. means that you can carry a gun with you everywhere you go… as long as it is concealed. Like i could walk into Walmart with a gun strapped on me, but no one would be able to see it. Whats your opinion on that. Just would like to see what people would say about it.

I have five concealed carry permits (Arizona, Florida, Maine, Utah, Washington). Between them I can legally carry concealed in 30 states.
Every state that has instituted "shall issue" concealed carry has enjoyed a subsequent reduction in violent, confrontational crime. Over all, the holders of concealed carry permits are much less likely than the general population to get into any kind of legal trouble — not surprising when you realize that most states require a background check before issuing a permit.
In "shall issue" concealed carry states, typically about 5% of those eligible apply for permits. Of those, about half carry on a regular basis. All the evidence indicates that these people do not cause problems and are beneficial to society as a whole.
That would bring a lot more blood to the streets.
CHL should not be necessary in order to carry a concealed firearm. It is unconstitutional for the State to require one to get a license in order to exercise ones constitutionally protected rights.
Should we require a license in order for you to exercise freedom of speech? Maybe we should require you to buy a license in order to be free from self incrimination?
Besides, it is a proven fact that where concealed carry is legal, crime is considerably lower than places that have gun prohibitions.
Already happens in the majority of states. Any criminal will do it license or no license, with honest citizens armed there will be more chance to shoot robbers or attackers.
In those places that do have concealed carry laws, private establishments (like Walmart) can restrict persons from carrying any weapon on the premises.
Which is silly, but it makes them feel better.
See, if I am carrying a *concealed* firearm, the whole point is that you *don’t* know I even have it on me.
You’d be surprised at how many places still have open carry laws on the books, even though nobody tells you about it. Open carry is just that… you walk around with a big ol’ honkin pistol on your hip, John Wayne style. While it is perfectly legal in my state, private property owners can restrict that as well.
You’ll find that the folks getting a CCW permit (or CHL as you call it) are not the gang bangers and bank robbers. They are the citizens that hope to have some chance to protect themselves from the gang bangers and bank robbers.
Think about this… if your life is in danger, and seconds count, help is only minutes away.
I believe most gun control sucks and is aimed at only hassling the honest law-abiding types.
As far as concealed carry licenses go, I think there should be no restrictions on carry, period. Carry openly or concealed. No license necessary.
Honestly, what other of our individual rights, which are guaranteed in the Bill of Rights, do you need government licenses to exercise? Wouldn’t you be outraged if you needed a government license to start your own bible study group? Wouldn’t you be outraged if you needed a gov’t license to start your own political blog?
No way man, CHL is terrible…
You shouldn’t need a license to bear arms.
