Well, Im happy you’re gonna try huntin but with the things you say it makes me just sigh.
You’re going to have to have that hunter’s ed card before you can get a license. And if your dad is gonna shoot he needs one too, especially if yall take multiple guns because the fines are very hefty because he would basically be poaching (he has no "tags" there is no record of a deer being killed.) You can ride with it Idk if I would by yourself but I’ve had guns in my truck since 16 (20 now) and never been pulled over, yet I do live in Arkansas. You need to get taken by a buddy so you actually know what you’re doing is my advice and I highly reccommend you take it!!! You cant just go walk out somewhere and kill a deer, squirrel maybe, but hunting is complicated.
Edit:huntin season is months off so you aren’t huntin anytime soon not sure what you’re thinkin there. Or buyin the license.
if you could kill deer with bad grammar you would be the cause for the extinction of the species. you can hunt, but he can’t (at least in my state).
It doesn’t matter where in the car you put the guns…
Try going to hunters ed. Some states require that, some dont.
When you buy a hunting license they will give you a little booklet with the regulations. This will also say how firearms may be legally transported in your state. You can also do a search for your state’s DNR or what ever other name the game department goes by and read the booklet there.
In most states it does not specify if a rifle should or should not be transported on or under a seat. In most states it simply says unloaded as well as cased or not readily accessible, but check the specifics for where you are. Typically not readily accessible can mean in a trunk, toolbox, case, other container, or partially disassembled (such as removing the bolt on a bolt action, or popping the barrel off of a shotgun, etc). But as always check your state’s laws, as what’s legal in one state might not be in another!
