Obama and liberal Judges seem to think we as Americans should not have firearms.
I will say I will not peacefully hand over my guns. The only way to get my guns will be over of my dead body.

I’m one who thinks that the Second Amendment’s original purpose was to give people AS A GROUP (militia) the right to bear arms, just like they did when we broke from England.
My state just passed a law that sets us back to the days of the O.K. corral. It is now legal to bring a concealed weapon into a bar. Just great. Why not mix alcohol and guns. Our legislature has just put a lot of people in danger. I know I will never go into an establishment that serves liquor. People who drink lack the inhibitions that normal people have. I wish guns and alcohol were made illegal.
It’s not a question of should we have the right to own guns.
We already have that right. I have many guns of different types, mostly sporting long guns but I have some target handguns too, ranging from .17 calibre Hornady to 44 magnum ( Ruger Blackhawk with 10.5: barrel).
For home defense ( I travel extensively on business) my wife keeps a 20ga Ithaca single shot next to the bed.
None of my guns threaten anyone whose intentions are honorable.
I think those who are opposed to gun ownership ( they cal it gun control but that’s a misnomer) simply are opposed to our being able to defend our lives and property from criminals and other miscreants.
They generally start to to change their views when they are the victim of crimes which they are powerless to prevent.

Once B.O. has you groveling for medical care begging for life saving drugs from some bureaucrat in Washington DC to save yourself or even more so, a loved one. You will not be worrying about your gun rights.

Within some common sense regulations, I’d agree with you. That said, I don’t see a need for the ownership of fully automatic weapons, or semi-auto firearms designed solely as assault weapons…unless they are registered. We register our cars, and license our drivers, and I don’t see it as being unconstitutional to require the same for gun ownership of certain weapons. To give an example, take a look at the semi-auto rifle shown at the below link. It seems impossible to me to assign any legitimate use of a weapon such as this one as anything other than an assault rifle, and why would it be needed by the average Joe Gunowner?
Absolutely….and we must also be cognizant on how this right is chipped away, which is the reason the Second Amendment should be applied to state and local governments via the Fourteenth Amendment.

Don’t kid yourself. The constitutional right to bear arms we’ve always been guaranteed is definitely on its way out (among all the other provisions supporting what used to be our Constitutional Republic).
It’s not going to happen suddenly, as in, "All Patriotic Americans Must Turn In Their Guns/Firearms." These things always develop incrementally. A gun safety bill here, an onslaught of gun violence PSA’s there, and people swallow it because each increment has plausibility built in. So at each one of these little steps, everyone says, "Well, this sounds sensible." and we move on to the next.
But people don’t have time to think about the really important issues of our most basic freedoms disappearing, because they’re far too busy worrying about red herrings (distractions) like the economic crisis and the global warming/climate shift issue, or Michael Jackson’s death.
And sure, we can revolt, take to the streets if we feel strongly enough about all this purposeful erosion of what U.S.A. was supposed to be.
But they’re already prepared for us, mostly through new laws like the Military Commisions Act, which by itself goes a long way in setting up "situational" reduction of most of our basic Constitutional rights and redefining concerned Americans as "homegrown terrorists."

Yes! This right should never be taken away. When you read historic reports of nations that forced their citizens to give up that right, you’ll see what happened as a result.

Why do you think Obama and liberal judges want to take your guns? Obama has never said anything like this. In fact he has a solid record of supporting gun ownership.
Fortunately for us Americans Mr Obama has ZERO say in the matter.
No under no circumstances should anyone not in law enforcement or the military have a hand gun or assault rifle. Hunting rifles and Shotguns should be very highly regulated to make sure that they are all registered and not sold to criminals.
Neither is it easy to continue to tolerate the double homicide rate you gun owners are providing us with.
I need to move to the hills take some guns with me to protect myself from all these anti-American word toting liberals.

Yes Americans should have an absolute right to bear arms in order to form a militia, and when they do form a militia, they should not be labeled as a terrorist group unless they actually act out in a violent manner.

Next it’ll be the limiting or registering ammo. Then certain types of guns, chip chip chip.
