I am a registered sex offender. I was charged with a felony, but i took a plea to a high misdemeanor. I also have a unlawful use of a financial device felony. My girlfriend wants to get a Carrying Concealed Weapon License (CCW) state of Florida. Is this possible? I know that I cant get a license, but can she have a firearm in the house without me getting into any trouble? Her rights should not be removed because she lives with me right? I shouldnt get in trouble because she has a firearm in the house for protection right? If someone breaks in the home and I fire the weapon in self defense of myself and our family will i get in trouble?

Thank you
So what your saying, is that if we are asleep, and if me and my child are in the house and the wife is not home, and someone breaks in, i must sit there and take a chance on whatever happens? I cannot fire the weapon in self defense of me and my child because of my record? So if they raise a weapon at me and fire, i cant return fire?
Paul, we want a weapon in the house for protection in the house only. Does she need a CCW for that, or is it another license, or do you even need a license? Can she just buy a gun for home protection? Does it matter if its a handgun or rifle? Preferably a handgun for ease of use. She doesnt want to carry the gun on her at all. Where we live we would feel more safer with a gun in the home locked in a gun safe.
I think its really dumb that if your felony is not a violent crime you cant get a weapon, what does credit card fraud have to do with a gun? My sexual assault charge was reduced to a misdemeanor so its not a felony

I sold a WWII dated P-38 handgun to someone. Now I need to ship it to them. He is going to get his FFL to send me some paperwork and/or license to me so I can ship it through the USPS to the FFL. Is this possible? Do they have some form or something to let me ship a handgun USPS?

I know I could ship it next day through FedEx or UPS, but at – that is a bit extreme and would like to ship through the USPS priority for -.
I have a C&R license but that only allows me to recieve C&R firearms. I know where several FFLs are in my area but after fees just me sending it though UPS/FedEx to his FFL is cheaper. I was just hoping that his I would be able to mail to his FFL through the USPS because of some paperwork or something that his FFL can send me. (This is what he seemed to say could happen though I had never heard of it before.)
You need a dealer FFL to ship USPS. But the guy who bought the P-38 said I could (I didn’t think so but wanted to make sure).

Shipping piece by piece would work until you got to the frame or is it the slide, or both? What ever part of the handgun that is legaly considered the weapon. That you could not mail unles you are a FFL. But triggers, barrels, sears, grips, ejectors, etc. can be sent by anyone to anyone.

The USPS will ship hand guns if you are a 01FFL (dealer), I am only a 03FFL (curio and relics collector). I am trying to find out if the 01FFL has some way to let me, a private citizen (as the 03FFL dosen’t effect shiping, only recieving C&R guns), send them a hand gun through the USPS. I don’t think I can but I want to make sure as saving would be great.

I do not think I am eligible for a CHL (concealed carry license) due to a prior conviction which is a misdemeanor and was deferred adjudicated for 2 felonies. Just FYI- these offenses occurred 6 years ago and countless major adjustment have been made to my character and lifestyle.

I know there are rights granted to persons in occupations within protective services. However, I do not know what exactly falls under that category.

I am able to purchase and carry (IN MY CAR AND HAS TO BE CONCEALED (I live in Texas)), However with my direct contact with police officers on a business relationship- are there any exceptions that might provide me with the right to carry weapons and what kind of weapons if so.

***I do not want to ask a random client for obvious reasons, however they might be able to answer this question****

<<<PLEASE LET ME KNOW ANY YOU CAN PROVIDE ME WITH ANY INFORMATION>>>

Also, any references to your answer would be greatly appreciated- ie. penal code 444.555

THANK YOU!!!!!!!
The misdemeanor was a Cass A: UCW Handgun…………. (Ironically)

I will stress again, I am able to purchase and carry (in my car) handguns and rifles

But I switched to another FFL who was mexican american and he said he can put up to 5 firearms in his 4403 form. I even asked this on the firing line forums, and they have never heard of the 7 day limit holding with the ATF or whatever. I think my ignorant white FFL guy was thinking I was going to use them to shoot up some place. He probably doesn’t know that I already graduated.

Anyway, hope this doesn’t scare anyone, and liberals that I’d like to be apologetic to, but when chaos breaks out, I want to protect myself from whites. My white FFL is okay and a bit friendly though and tries to give a good deal, but I’ve found a better deal with my mexican FFL. It’s a tad cheaper and plus my white FFL was out of town for almost a week, and I sent the money order in already expecting him to complete the FFL license transfer, so I needed someone else to do it.
Also mostly need when chaos breaks out even in CA by some white supremacists. I heard Eric Phelps claiming that the Chinese will come over and kill and rape them, and that he will take no prisoners. So I gotta watch out for psychotics like that, especially when you know what happened to indians/middle easterns after 911.
Oh yeah and for the details, I asked my mexican FFL if he had a timeframe for holding one firearm before the next arrives and he said no, which he explained that the form can hold up to 5. He is charging total or was it 40, and the other guy is charging 50$. Which is the cheapest out of all the FFLs I’ve found. The other ones who are white charge 20$ per handgun. And one time I called this Bill Manciani guy and he charged more than his old quoted price; per handgun. What a ripoff.
Mexican FFL has his own site to get rates from his wholesalers too. And he said I could’ve gotten this one item for 25$ cheapers, and said I should consider asking him next time for deals.

An acquaintance had been given a handgun from someone fearing police, this person went to jail, and he was left with it. He came to me asking if he knew a way to get rid of it, he was scared to have it on him and didn’t care how little he got for it as long as it was gone. I took him to somewhere I knew it could be sold, made a deal, made some money, and said I never wanted to see him again. Two days later he approached me in public, his story was untrue, it was stolen from family and they needed it back. I got it back for them. About a month later, id heard nothing about it, detectives show up. My fingerprints are not on it, I can’t think of any other possible physical evidence, and the buyer is unknown, so it’s basically my word against theirs I think. I was questioned at home, but I think since I wasn’t arrested and they werent able to get a search warrant, there’s a lack of evidence or theres too much reasonable doubt ? Is it likely ill be charged, how bad could the penalty be?

But is it legal for anyone between the ages of 18 and 21 to own a handgun and carry it in their car? I haven’t found anything that would lead me to believe otherwise. I know you have to be 21 in order to obtain a firearms license and carry your weapon openly or concealed, but you don’t have to be 21 just to own one, do you?

Thanks!
Yes, they were changed recently (a little better than they used to be…thankfully), but I was just wondering about the age.

The State Solution
Like many states, Utah enacted a concealed-handgun licensing law in 1995. Unlike most states, Utah did not make schools an exclusion zone for lawful carrying. Not only a teacher on duty, but also a parent coming to pick up a child from school, can lawfully carry a concealed handgun in a Utah school building — after, of course, passing a background check and safety training. (See Utah Code sect. 76-10-505.5. In 2003, the legislature expanded the law, by allowing principals to authorize firearms possession by individuals who did not have a concealed-handgun carry permit.)

After eleven years of experience in Utah, we now have exactly zero reported problems of concealed handgun licensees misusing guns at school, or students stealing guns from teachers, or teachers using their licensed firearms to shoot or threaten students. During this same period, we also have had exactly zero mass murders in Utah schools.

My proposal, however, is not that other states go as far as Utah. Rather, I simply suggest that teachers and other school employees be allowed to carry if they obtain a handgun carry permit. If a school wants to require special additional training for school carry, that’s fine.

Some people who do not like the idea of teachers being armed to protect students simply get indignant, or declare that armed teachers are inconsistent with a learning environment. I suggest that dead students — and the traumatic aftermath of a school attack — are far more inconsistent with a learning environment than is a math teacher having a concealed handgun.

“Teachers don’t want to carry guns!” some people exclaim. True enough, for most teachers. But there are about six million teachers in the United States, and it would be foolish to make claims about what every teacher thinks. The one thing that almost all teachers have in common is that they have passed a fingerprint-based background check, meaning that they are significantly less likely than the general population to have a criminal history.
We know that school shootings have been stopped by armed citizens with guns. In 1997, a Mississippi attack was thwarted after vice principal Joel Myrick retrieved a handgun from his trunk. The killer had already shot several people at Pearl High School, and was leaving that school to attack Pearl Junior High, when Myrick pointed his .45 pistol at the killer’s head and apprehended him. A few days later, an armed adult stopped a school rampage in Edinboro, Pennsylvania.

okay so one of my relatives died recently and we were emptying out their appartment in the John Hancock building in chicago illinois and we found a 1950′s era colt handgun. it is in excellent condition and has only been shot about 100 times. we want to bring it back to us in st louis and add it to our arsenal but it is an un registered handgun, so if we were to bring it back to out house in st louis and say we got pulled over for speeding or somthing, could we face charges for having and un registerd hand gun? could we mail it back to st louis? what is the most efficent legal way to transport it back. and yes we do ahve concealed weapon permits/license (i forget what its called) but its not registered to us so please help! thanks

p.s. sorry for bad grammer/spelling, i typed this as fast as possible in antacipating a better answers befor i leave tomarrow.
just so you guys know chicago is very strick on gun laws. around here i drive around with rifle and handguns in a case with lots of ammo. my friend got fined for driving with a handgun and no ammo, but that was because he forgot to lock it in his trunk. but still, it’s stricter
also all you guys are saying something about not having to register the guns, all of my guns had to be registered, but that might be because i am under 21. idk

I am planning on on taking a trip to Indiana for a trade that involves a fair amount of money, and I was wondering about protection. The money must be on my person (in cash, not in check form), and I am feeling a bit apprehensive about carrying an amount this large without any protection. I was wondering if my bodyguard is legally able to carry a concealed (on non-concealed) handgun on his person in Indiana. He has a valid carry permit in Tennessee, but I am not sure if that carries over to Indiana.

My question summed up; can my bodyguard, who has a valid license to carry concealed firearms (TN), carry a weapon for personal protection in the state of Indiana?

Thanks!
Haha, no, there isn’t anything to worry about. I’m buying a car, but I want to pay in cash so I don’t have to wait for my check to clear in order to obtain the title.

I’m pretty sure I understand how that different licenses work, but before I go out and purchase my first handgun, I want to make sure I don’t do something I’m not allowed to do. As far as I can tell, the Class A (unrestricted) means that I can legally carry a concealed firearm in MA. Am I correct in my interpretation of the law?
Stiggy-
Really dude?
Thank you Captain Obvious.
Thanks to Stiggy we have now established that someone needs a license to carry a firearm…awesome.
Again, my question was whether or not a Class A unrestricted firearms license legally entitles someone to carry a concealed weapon in MA.
Thanks

There is a great debate going on with this right now throughout the state, and I just wanted to know your thoughts. Here’s some of the text….

Sec. 411.2031. CARRYING OF HANDGUNS BY LICENSE HOLDERS ON
CERTAIN CAMPUSES. (a) For purposes of this section, "institution
higher education" have the meanings assigned by Section 61.003,
Education Code.
(b) A license holder may carry a concealed handgun on or
about the license holder’s person while the license holder is on the
campus of an institution of higher education or private or
independent institution of higher education in this state.
(c) An institution of higher education or private or
independent institution of higher education in this state may not
adopt any rule, regulation, or other provision prohibiting license
holders from carrying handguns on the campus of the institution.
(d) An institution of higher education or private or
independent institution of higher education in this state may
establish rules, regulations, or other provisions concerning the
storage of handguns in dormitories or other residential buildings
