I used to work at a gun store as a firearm sales associate, and we received a single firearm from either a Japanese or Korean manufacturer. I thought it was Daihatsu, but may be wrong. I am certain the manufacturer started with a D though. Anyways, it had a very unique firing system. With the hammer forward, a trigger pull would cock the hammer back at first pull, but the gun would not fire. You could either fire it with the second pull, or you could just push the hammer back forward with your thumb. There was no resistance. At that point, to fire the gun, you would pull the trigger, which would stage the hammer, then a second trigger pull would fire the gun. I have not seen this system with any other firearm, and need help figuring out who made it. Any help is appreciated.

Are there any laws regulating this? I want to sell my handgun to get a more expensive one, and I don’t want to use an online auction. I know private handgun sales are legal in Virginia, but are there any laws or regulations for private handgun sales in VA? Thank you!

Someone I know has a revolver for sale which they purchased from someone who had purchased it at a gun show. They did not go through a dealer, but was "told" the revolver was legal, and not stolen. I intend to do a legal transfer through an FFL Dealer, but I want to make sure the revolver isn’t stolen before proceeding with a transfer. Usually, the seller isn’t scrutinized like the buyer, unless the firearm is stolen. I’d just rather not open up a can of worms for the seller, since he bought it in good faith, I’m just looking to score on a good price.
