any florida police here? need firearm help?

ok so my friend got pulled over for speeding, he had no license and his loaded handgun under the seat

he told me when he asked the cop, the cop said it was a misdemeanor and even told him how to get the gun back

my friends charge reads – 790.01-2 firearm CCF ARM 00 bond pending trial on the inmate summary

but florida law statutes 790.01-2 says carying concealed firearm law states its 5 years/00

he only had to pay 150 to get out of jail. it seems more like he was charged with a misdemeanor yes?

Do you need a license to use a gun in a firerange?

I only use a pistol to use it in a range. It is not concealed (it’s in a gun case). I reside in PA. Do I need a gun license? What happens if I am traveling to the pistol range and a cop pulls me over and asks if I have a gun? Would I get in trouble for that?

Considering carrying a concealed firearm?

I own a full size 9mm, and I’m thinking of obtaining a pistol permit in order to carry concealed. Of course, carrying such a large weapon concealed would be a bit of a trick, so it’s probably going in my purse (which I’m way more protective over than the average woman).

I’ve got some pretty good reasons for carrying concealed and most of it stems from my long solo drives to/from scuba diving sites. I spend a lot of time on the road, at all hours of the day and night, and I’d feel better with a means to defend myself.

My big question is to all the various police officers out there: If I am carrying concealed, and I get pulled over for some odd reason, what do you expect from me? Would you want to know immediately that I carry a firearm? How would you expect me to behave? (i.e. both hands on the steering wheel, keys out of the ignition,etc).

Basically, I don’t want some freaked out cop drawing down on me because he saw the butt of my pistol as I rummaged for my driver’s licenses.

When carrying a concealed weapon, should I mention it or not?

I occasionally have contact with law enforcement and I typically have a concealed firearm on my person. Here in Minnesota, I’m not legally required to declare that, unless I’m specifically asked. So is it better to just keep quiet or should I politely hand over my permit along with my drivers’ license?

One evening I was out for a stole to get some exercise and a cop pulled over. (apparently I was a ‘suspicious looking person,’ wearing a reflective traffic vest and walking on a bike path). I gave him my DL and said “oh, and here’s my carry permit, if you need to see that.” . . . “are you carrying right now??” . . . “I sure am.”

After that exchange, he seemed kind of startled; then quickly handed back my cards, jumped back in his car, and floored it. Did I do alright, or should I have hoped he didn’t notice the 1911 sized budge under my vest?
Yeesh, this is a totally legit “story.” I go walking (not jogging) just about every evening with a hip holster and a full size 1911. And no, it’s not obvious that I’m ‘packing’; in the twilight, all people see is the reflective strips on my clothing. As to “why,” I do it because I’m a well educated, hard working, law abiding citizen and I’m not going to get killed or maimed by some dirt-bag. In this society, I should be able to get some exercise and be safe at the same time. Unfortunately, I’ve heard way too many cases of people getting mugged; and then wallet in hand, the bad guy shoots the victim just to prove he’s “hard.”

Handgun with no license, what will happen if cop discovers it?

I am the proud owner of a handgun but I do not have a license for it. It’s locked in lower front seat compartment with combination and key option.

I have a 2nd amendment right to own a gun and that right shall not be infringed so I don’t see the need for a license.

What if I get pulled over and the cop tries to take my gun away? Do I have a right to defend my gun?

Concealed Carry handgun license, being pulled over, how to inform the Officer?

What is the best way to inform an Officer that you have a gun, when being pulled over? I’m always scared that the cop will flip out draw his gun, and scream "GET OUT OF THE CAR NOW!" when I legally have a firearm concealed on me.

what's the difference between concealed handgun license or permit & carry concealed handgun license or permit?

i am 21 and i live in houston texas. i just finished a handgun training program in which i will receive a concealed semiautomatic handgun license or permit. i dont know much about gun laws and dont know the difference between license and permit in terms of guns, i do know the difference for driving. i need for someone to explain to me the difference between handgun license and handgun permit. i also need to know the difference between (license or permit) of concealed handgun to (license or permit) to carry a concealed handgun. i thought that concealed license or permit and carry a concealed handgun license or permit is the same thing?i also need to know if i can carry my loaded pistol around tucked into my pants along with my gun I.D.? if i get pulled over by a cop for a traffic violation and the loaded gun is tucked in my pants and i have the gun I.D.,where does the loaded gun have to be in the vehicle at all times?also,can i carry my pistol to places like movie theaters or the mall?

what is the difference between a firearm's license and a permit to carry?

I am living with my girlfriend in her place in the Philippines, Can I bring and keep the gun in her place? will I be breaking any law If i get caught by a cop during the process of bringing the weapon to her place, perhaps while on the road? I do have a firearms license.. would that suffice?
