What do you recommend for a hunting rifle?

im 14 years old i live on a cattle ranch in canada. i have began hunting. i have 2 .22′s and a 12 gauge shotgun. what would you recomend as a high powered hunting rifle? i have narrowed it down to two guns that i can have thru many hour of research. what gun should it be the remington 7mm magnum or a 30-06 of some sort?
well yes i miseed a few key points. i already have a trusty 30-30. and my needs for a riffle are mainly for shiping pests from 300yds+. and for defence from local pests (in september a very close friend of mine was killed by a bear a mile from my house. and i have found cougar and bear tracks within 1000 feet of my house.

my husband is a US resident but a canadian citizen and when he moved to the US he did not bring his hunting rifles because he did not know if he could. Now he wants to hunt and wants to bring back his hunting rifles from canada to the us. Can he do this and if so what does he need to do? The guns are registered in canada.

Flintlock Pistol Gun License?

Just out of sheer curiosity do you need a gun license to own and fire an old style flintlock pistol? Like maybe a working replica of a 17th century flintlock? If so how hard would it be to get a license for a gun that doesn’t exist anymore?

Hi was wondering if there were any websites that have people from canada selling and auctioning guns. Ebay and kijiji doesnt allow gun sales and im too cheap to buy a brand new rifle.
karle those are restrictions for handguns. Rifles and shotguns under a certain length just need to be registered. Im looking for a rifle
