Get a lawyer and get the charge dropped. A lot of states, like California that is all anti-gun. They have the felony version of the charge and a misdemeanor of the same charge. My friend had a felony charge of carrying a concealed firearm in California. His Lawyer had the charge dropped to a misdemeanor carrying a concealed firearm. He payed a fine, did 60 hours community service, but could not own, buy or (if California even gave out permits) you would not get a permit. But it only was for 10 years. Now he after ten years moved to Nevada was able to buy guns and get a permit. Just if anyone asks, don’t tell them if you own other weapons.
So that is how it works in the most anti-gun state in the country. So you need a lawyer who knows the gun laws, DON’T USE A PUBLIC DEFENDER !!!
There was still a conviction in order to get the probation.
You’re probably not even allowed to OWN a gun now.
I doubt it.
ABSOLUTELY NOT! THAT WILL NOW STAY ON YOUR RECORD FOR EVER
Depends. If you later have your felony conviction expunged, maybe. (But you will have to wait a few years to qualify for expungement.)
If your probation was part of a deferred adjudication on the felony, maybe, but you will have wait 3 years.
Answer: maybe, but not for at least 3 years.
LOL!!!!!!!!!!!
You crack me up.
Why in the hell would they give you a permit after you broke the law???????????/
This is a question for a lawyer in your state that practices this area of law. Most reputable lawyers do a free consultation to figure out what the next avenue is.
Bring all of your paperwork for the lawyer to look at and be honest about your goals.
if i have a felony on my record but not a gun charge and im on felony probation when i get off can i get my consealed weapons license
