I have no conceal carry license in MN.
I would be transporting the firearm, unloaded, and in a case in my trunk.
The ammunition would be stored in a different bag in the trunk.
When at the hotel, the pistol, unloaded, no ammunition present, would be stored in the case, in my hotel safe.
Am I good?

No state permit is required to possess a rifle, shotgun, or HANDGUN.
You should be fine, as you are allowed to possess in both states AND you may transport between any states in which you are allowed to possess
Better to be caught with it than caught without it, if you get the drift.
I don’t know but CALL THE HOTEL IN ADVANCE AND ASK BEFORE YOU DO ANYTHING. Call them now and sort that out with them. Better to be safe than sorry.
