well i think in Ca you cab buy a shotgun at 18 but i want to know if u need a permit for that.. i think a pistol you have to be 21

Federal law says 21 for a pistol,18 for a long gun.
It depends on the state but in RI you can get long guns at 18 and hand guns at 21. Which is stupid because you can get a AK47 at 18 years old.
I don’t think there is a specific asge that you need to be to obtain a "HSC (assuming Hunter’s Safety Courser) Certificate," but the Firearms permit is varied by state, though I believe you have to be 21 for a firearms permit per the Federal Govt. As far as hunting that also is state specific, 12-16tyrs. are in the usual minimum the usual age in most states that child must be to hunt/hunt alone.
