I am pretty much in the same boat. I work for a security agency that employess unarmed and armed guards. They are willing to train for the CCW card and will issue you a FERC card. The only catch is you have to give up your rights when you leave the company and you can’t carry your weapon off duty. (Illinois)
contact your local police Dept., Sheriffs Office, or county clerk for information on CCW permits.
if the only reason you are pusuing these careers is to be able to carry a gun, you are in it for the wrong reasons.
Firearm carry permit laws vary from state to state. You can usually find out the laws through your state’s official website.

this place is located throughout the united states, they have armed and unarmed security. if you just want your ccw permit you can go to your local sheriff or police and apply. you can say you want it because you live in a remote area or because you hike alot and need it for personal protection.
Yeah take a CCW course, depending on what state you live in you can take usually a two day course including legalities and training in carrying a concealed weapon. After that with some restrictions you can carry a concealed weapon. If you just want to carry a weapon as a security officer you should be able to apply for a job and the company will generally put you through training to carry, assuming you have a clean background and no reason you cant carry one. Several companies hire armed guards, so do armored car services, would be good experience for a law enforcement career.
Contact your state police they are the people to contact with gun questions. You never said what state you are in so none of us can give you a complete answer, just a general one. Arizona is an open carry state and you do not need a permit in Arizona to carry open. You just need one to conceal it.
When I lived in FL, I worked in security. In FL, there is a difference between concealed carry permit (personal) and open carry license for security work.
Your question seems to be inquiring about a permit to carry while working. You could start with local armored car companies and ask them about employment and training. Some may have in house training, others may direct you to companies that offer that training.
Other users have suggested contacting your local sheriff’s office. That is probably a very good idea, too.
Good luck with your career goals.
