I am the proud owner of a handgun but I do not have a license for it. It’s locked in lower front seat compartment with combination and key option.
I have a 2nd amendment right to own a gun and that right shall not be infringed so I don’t see the need for a license.
What if I get pulled over and the cop tries to take my gun away? Do I have a right to defend my gun?

No, you do not have a right to defend your gun.
The 2nd Amendment protects the rights to own guns. However, it does nothing for illegally concealing the weapon inside your vehicle.
If you are caught with that gun in your vehicle by an officer, you will be charged with carrying a concealed firearm. The seriousness varies from state to state, but the charge is fairly similar between them all.
A concealed weapons permit will take care of any issue you may have here. Contact your local circuit court clerks office or do a search for what you need to do to obtain one.
they’ll kick your white ass
No, he’ll either confiscate it, or you’ll get charged with unlawful possesion of a firearm.
Yah why dont you just apply for a FOID card and put it in a case and get it registered and what not…saves you a trip to jail and a whole bunch of nonsense with a judge.
depends on what state you live in.. but.. dont we have the right to bare arms.
The courts have ruled that the government has the right to require a license for a handgun. The fact that you "don’t see the need for a license" doesn’t matter. If you are caught with it, you are looking at some serious penalties, and if you try to "defend" your gun, it’s going to be even worse.
Depends on what state you are in. Alaska and Vermont your good to go. Many states what your doing falls under peaceable journey, if the firearm is unloaded and locked up and your going from a place you can lawfully posses a handgun to a place you can lawfully poses a handgun. Not all states are like this and again it depends on the state your in.
Most states require a permit or CCW to transport a loaded firearm. Indiana requires a Licensee to Carry a Handgun to transport a handgun unless you are coming from place of purchase to your dwelling or going to/coming from a firearms or hunter education class.
Even with the recent Heller ruling by the USSC they made no reference to barring firearms on keeping. They went on to further state in the brief that reasonable restrictions should apply. Reasonable restrictions however like may legal terms where never clarified and what my be reasonable to me and you is unheard of to another.
you will be charged with careing a consild hand gun and if you try to defend it you will most likely be shot
Depending upon the jurisdiction you are in violation of:
Carrying a concealed weapon.
Unlawful possession of a weapon.
You even touch the gun during a traffic stop, and you might not live to go to court.
Lawful gun owners do not violate the law.
It depends where you live. In my state the only thing you would have to do, if a cop pulled you over, you would have to tell him you have it with you. But by our state law you don’t have to have a license for it and its not easily accessible to you.
