Somehow over the course of 200+ since the Bill of Rights’ passage, the government pulled a trick on us all — the RIGHT to Bear Arms turned into a PRIVILEGE. (Whereas a RIGHT can not be suspended/taken away without Judiciary’s approval, a PRIVILEGE can be denied, suspended, or withdrawn by the Executive branch at will — without that pesky "due process".)
Case in point — a blogger had his license suspended, while the police evaluate its "suitability", after he wrote in his blog: "1 down and 534 to go” (referring to members of the Congress). Note, that he is not accused of any crime — his 1st Amendment (unlike the 2nd) Rights are still seemingly intact:

All because his rhetoric was "threatening". Would the same logic cause Thomas Jefferson to lose his license — if the author of the following paragraph ever got one?
"God forbid we should ever be twenty years without such a rebellion. The people cannot be all, and always, well informed. The part which is wrong will be discontented, in proportion to the importance of the facts they misconceive. If they remain quiet under such misconceptions, it is lethargy, the forerunner of death to the public liberty. … And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to the facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time, with the blood of patriots and tyrants. It is its natural manure."

(Please, let’s not go into practicality of the 2nd Amendment — if it is not suitable in the age of nuclear weapons, then let’s rewrite or outright abolish it, constitutionally. But as long as it is "on the books", it ought to remain the law of the land…)
Well, yeah, he was making threats to all "rulers" in this quote…
