my friend says since I already have the safety cert. I dont need to go thru the course to receive a concealed carry permit but my moms bf who is a concealed carry permit instructor says I do? help me please

6. Must provide certificate of completed authorized firearms training. Training by a certified instructor and completed within one year of an original or renewal application. (624.714, Subd. 2a)
Sorry. Looks like your safety certificate isn’t enough. You’ll have to take that course.
You will have to ck State laws since you omitted that.
Not sure where you are from but yes, they are not the same. Safety Cert they teach you things like "this is a trigger, this is the barrel" whereas in conceal to carry they tell you thinks like "If you shoot somebody you will get sued" It will probably cost to $200 or so but you need to get it done in most states.
Which state?
In most states you have to take another course specifically covering concealed carry.
Concealed carry is a whole different animal. Regardless of whether or not you have taken a safety test you will have to qualify and pass a concealed carry course, and they are not necessarily cheap either.
In Minnesota all you need is your firearm safety certificate. With that, and a concealed carry permit, you are covered.
