Help me understand this part of the law…"Carrying Firearms in Idaho
Except in a person’s place of abode or fixed place of business, a person shall not carry a concealed weapon without a license to carry a concealed weapon. This shall not apply to any pistol or revolver located in plain view whether it is loaded or unloaded. A firearm may be concealed legally in a motor vehicle so long as the weapon is disassembled or unloaded. "
if it is on the outside of my hip(open carry) then is it legal?

If my reading of the statute is correct, Idaho carry laws are LESS restrictive for cars. It appears that you can carry the weapon in your car with impunity so long as you remove the magazine.
no. you need a permit
You need to have a concealed weapons permit.
No, apparently you need the CCW permit to carry openly in a car.
